23,136 acres burned in Holy Fire! Santiago Peak Spared!

Flames Close to Santiago Peak

Updated 8/8/18 - 6:30pm PDT

It's been over 77 hours since the Holy Fire broke out and it's becoming a monster. The flames on the west flank are threatening Santiago Peak and our repeater system. Fire protection personnel are battling this blaze and air support are laying down PhosChek around the peak.

Mike Collis - WA6SVT said the flame got as close to about 350 feet from the mountaintop. The W6ATN Santiago Peak tower camera will be on continuously at 5910 MHz. You can also monitor the hilltop LIVE via the HPWREN education video live stream at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ag0HkMfTHzI.

We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
